Tropical Agriculture Laboratory Course

A.  Building

Faculty of Agriculture is located within the campus at Bulaksumur in the Special Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is about 2 ha and the second largest complex in the university. There are 12 building groups in the complex i.e. administration, laboratory, classroom, student union, greenhouse and auditorium. Every room is connected by a computer network.

B.  Library

A library under the management of the faculty is available. In addition, each department has its own library. To support the needs of teaching, research, and extension functions, the University Library holds various books collection and journals. The faculty library recently installed a computerized network that provides an access to catalogues and abstracts of books and other publications.

C.  Research Facilities

There are adequate laboratories, glasshouse space, and ample field facilities i.e.:

  1. Upland experimental field for about 3 hectares in Banguntapan Yogyakarta.
  2. The 35 hectares of Agricultural Experimentation, Research, and Development Station, at Kalitirto, Yogyakarta.
  3. Perennial Crop Estate of Pagilaran Enterprise, covering an area of 1000 hectares in Pagilaran, Central Java with commercial tea and coffee plantation, and in Segayung with cacao and coconut.
  4. An experimental fish farm located in the campus.
  5. An integrated coastal agriculture experimental field for about 25 ha (15 ha ponds and 10 ha sandy soil land) in Keburuhan Beach, Purworejo District, Central Java.
